Thanksgiving Extravaganza
We're
Thankful for Pinots, Chardonnays, Merlots...
Cloudy and rainy weather November 25th didn't prevent visitors from stopping by the tasting room for our newly released wines. Friendlier weather on the 26th and 27th added to the over 400 visitors who came to our Thanksgiving Extravaganza.
Not just a celebration of the season, the Extravaganza doubles as a release party for our latest wines. Winemaker Rich Cushman introduced two new Pinots, as well as a Chardonnay and Merlot - all of which were very well received. Guests were treated to the first public offering of these selections along with the latest creation, the ever-popular River City Red.
You can find each of these selections, as well as past vintages and our famous Pear Wine on our website,

Cellar Report
While we don't want to overshadow our latest releases, it's never too late to start thinking about next year. The fermenting is done for the 2005 wines, and are now in Oak barrels.
"The Pinots for 2005 are looking nice, the Ginsler Pinot has come along very nicely," owner Scott Hagee said. "I'm looking forward to two excellent vintages of Pinots this coming year."
Along with the Pinots, Hagee is looking forward to a limited amount of Zinfandel and a Vintage Select Gewurtz expected to be slightly sweeter than the last vintage. Within the coming months 2005 Cabernet and new Syrahs will start the bottling process with a release date in the late spring.
The latest cellar report has 4,465 total cases of wine in barrels and tanks right now. Nearly 3,000 are reds and the rest whites. Pear wine production begins in January.

Looking back...Oregon Bounty
To all of you who visited as part of the Oregon Bounty Tour in November we thank you for your ongoing support of both Pheasant Valley Vineyard and all that our wonderful state has to offer. We received many compliments and kind wishes. Hope to see you next year.
